About J.

From what I can tell
woven between spaces
is a Mystery
that refuses to be named -

Our hearts never remaining
permanently cracked
but instead growing blossoms
on a fault line

Jennifer Magnano (J.) holds in deep reverence the holy, wild work of soul tending. A soft place to land for mothering, parenting, caregiving, and grief-full bodies, she is known in her community as a spiritual midwife, grief companion and activist, and memoirist. Jennifer is also the author of a children's book. Bliss & Blue is based on her personal lived-experience of finding joy in parenting a fantastically neurodivergent child.

Jennifer is trained and certified in the lineage of Inter-Spiritual Companionship with Unity Worldwide and is bolstered by trainings on feminist theology/spirituality, the female nervous system, mindfulness for mental wellness, sober living, trauma-sensitive yoga, and Ayurvedic care for postpartum, cancer, illness and grief. Shaped by back-to-back chapters in emergency and specialty veterinary medicine & birth work — where grief often runs amuck — she has lingered in places and spaces in support of caregiving and companioning bodies for over two decades.

A wild-bodied survivor & thriver, Jennifer is highly attuned to the heart of post-traumatic wellness and growth in motherhood, caregiving and life.

Beyond her education, Jennifer has the lived-experience of reconstructing a vibrant, fluid and wild spiritual life post-trauma and abuse. She is a student of Jesus' teachings, the Unity movement, Buddhist meditation and sangha, Jewish ritual and prayer, and nature-based spirituality. Throughout her career, she has offered an open-heart to all secular and spiritual paths.

Jennifer and her family raise and rescue medicinal plants and animals on a small patch of Hohokam-O’odham (Arizona) desert land. She is living and alive because of a rich relationship with her community and the Divine, deep rest, and time with art and in nature. In her spare time, Jennifer can be found gardening, cooking, painting, writing poetry, practicing the drum, and growing her home library.
