What is Spiritual Companionship?

Spiritual direction or companionship can best be described as a sacred relationship between an individual and a spiritual teacher, Anam Cara (soul friend), or guide centering your inner wisdom and the Divine.

Spiritual companionship is not new. In fact, it is a lineage thousands of years old with roots far and wide. Spiritual companionship holds origins in ancient philosophical traditions, Christianity, Judaism, Sufism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and a multitude of other spiritual and religious homes. In each and all spaces, spiritual companionship is not known for fixing or for advice, but for bearing honest and compassionate witness.

There are few of us who do not feel inclined toward this kind of tenderness and care. While it has become exceedingly rare over the last few decades that everyday people have spiritual companionship, recently there has been a shift. We have noticed what is missing. More and more women are looking for ways to embody the wholeness from which we came.

If you are seeking spiritual companionship, it's likely your inner compass is pointing toward a more compassionate way forward. You may be asking big questions. You may be carrying heavy things. And as you may have already guessed, when folks engage in spiritual companionship those questions can be addressed - lightening the load.

All Are Welcome

As a spiritually eclectic guide, J. has formed roots in the Unity movement, a movement at the intersection of Christianity and New Thought with a focus on positive, practical spiritual principles centering health, prosperity, and peace.

Co-Founded by Charles & Myrtle Fillmore in the late 19th Century, Unity lands within Christianity in that most of its followers are aligned with the teachings of Jesus and Christ Consciousness. You'll find that Unity is different from most Christian denominations because of it's emphasis (thanks to Charles Fillmore) on people as both beloved by God and unique in their relationship to good or God.

Unity believes that individual differences are necessary for the full expression of God in the world; and, "honors the many names for God, the many paths to God, the many ways to worship God," because there is only one Divine presence.

Raised in a spiritually diverse home and community, J. soulfully companions women, couples and families on all spiritual and religious paths. She works with all genders, neurotypes, abilities, family-types, and ages; and, offers generous scholarships to those who ask and apply. You and your experience of grief, good and/or God are welcome and invited as is.

To best support you and your particular belief system, J. offers a complimentary session before you embark on soul care together.
